Please note - when booking a mock test, your child only needs to be at one sitting. We have two locations running the same mock tests at two different times.
In short, your child only comes to us once across the test weekend!
At Trafford Tuition, our mock tests are designed to mirror the real Trafford 11+ exam in every detail — from the difficulty level to the exam conditions. These tests are the product of over 70 years of combined curriculum expertise, developed by a team of school leaders, teachers, and entrance exam writers.
Each mock is carefully crafted in-house, covering English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. We run our mock exams in real school settings to provide an authentic test-day experience, complete with formal exam conditions.
All papers are professionally marked and returned within a week. Parents receive a clear diagnostic report highlighting strengths and areas for improvement — giving you the insight needed to focus preparation where it matters most.
Many parents asked for this last year, so we’ve now made it a regular feature.
During the feedback session, members of our team take children (and parents) through key areas and question types from the mock test. The session lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes and provides a great opportunity to discuss tricky questions, ask for clarification, and hear useful exam technique advice.
These sessions are held on the Saturday following the mock test, allowing families to receive their child’s scores first, then join us for an in-depth run-through. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, designed to help pupils build understanding and confidence.
Once you confirm which test(s) and session(s) you’d like to attend, we’ll send an invoice.
Invoices can be paid using:
Before the Exam
We recommend that children have a good night’s sleep and arrive feeling calm and confident.
Please ensure your child brings:
Please avoid bringing large pencil cases or packed lunches, as the session timings do not require them.
During the Exam
Each 11+ mock consists of two papers, sat back-to-back with a short break in between — mirroring the real GL Assessment exam format in September.
If it’s your child’s first mock, they may find it challenging at first — that’s completely normal. The timings and question styles are designed to stretch able pupils working towards grammar school entry.
All venues have easily accessible toilets, and children can use them whenever necessary, though we encourage them to go before, during the break, or after the test so they don’t lose valuable time.
After the Exam
Parents should return to collect children around 2 hours 30 minutes after the start time.
We do not send home test papers due to copyright agreements, but we do provide:
In addition, our group sessions and feedback events will guide children through common question types from the test.
