A trained Headteacher with over 15 years of experience in schools, Tom holds a First-Class Honours degree in Education from Durham University. He became increasingly concerned by the rise of tuition providers relying on unqualified tutors and inconsistent approaches. Trafford Tuition was built to change this — placing expert educators in front of children, delivering structured, engaging sessions tailored to real academic needs. Parents deserve peace of mind; children deserve outstanding teaching.

With a degree in Primary Education, Ben worked as a Year 6 teacher in Manchester, where his thoughtful and effective teaching helped many pupils not only excel in school assessments but also succeed in the 11+. His passion for high standards continues at Trafford Tuition, where he now leads on the quality of teaching and learning across our programmes.
As our designated Safeguarding Lead, Ben also ensures that every child learns in a safe, engaging environment. His experience in creating supportive spaces for young learners is second to none, and he plays a key role in upholding our commitment to both academic excellence and pastoral care.

Specialising in Key Stage 2, Sarah is known for her high expectations and her ability to bring out the best in every child. Her pupils consistently make strong progress under her guidance, thanks to her structured, nurturing approach and her deep understanding of how children learn.
At Trafford Tuition, Sarah leads on our mock test provision. With her wealth of classroom experience, she ensures that every paper is carefully written, accurately pitched, and reflective of the standards children will face — making our assessments both realistic and impactful.

During his tenure, the school achieved back-to-back Outstanding gradings from Ofsted, with pupils consistently exceeding national averages. John played a key role in shaping the school’s success through his deep understanding of curriculum design, teaching quality, and pupil progress.
At Trafford Tuition, John teaches advanced groups and is a key part of our summer school team. He also leads on curriculum development, using his expertise to shape and refine the high-quality resources that underpin our teaching. His influence helps ensure that our programmes are academically rigorous, well-structured, and aligned with the very best of classroom practice.

Kay has over 15 years of classroom experience and has taught across the whole of Key Stage 2, most recently as a Year 3 and Year 4 teacher.
With a specialism in maths and science, she has always enjoyed helping children grow in confidence and discover a love of learning.

With a specialism in maths and science, she has always enjoyed helping children grow in confidence and discover a love of learning.
Beyond the classroom, Kay has worked as an advisor for the local authority, supporting schools to put in place the very best practice for all learners. She has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children and those with SEMH needs, and her work in this area has helped many pupils thrive. She has also delivered training for teachers across the authority and contributed to the PGCE course at the University of Manchester.
As well as her teaching and advisory roles, Kay has tutored Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs and the 11+, guiding them with patience and encouragement. She brings warmth, expertise, and a genuine passion for helping every child achieve their potential.

Colin is a highly experienced KS2 teacher with over twelve years in the classroom, the last six of which have been in Trafford primary schools.
He has a strong knowledge of the Trafford 11+ and four years of dedicated tutoring experience, helping children build confidence and achieve success.

After completing a BA Joint Honours in Geography and Management Studies at the University of Leeds, Colin trained through the University of Nottingham’s SCITT programme in 2013. Since then, he has taught across the whole of KS2 and was nominated for Class of the Year at the MEN Teaching Awards in 2015.
Away from teaching, Colin is an avid traveller. His adventures have taken him from the Galápagos Islands to Antarctica, Alaska’s Arctic Circle and even close encounters with Komodo dragons. This spirit of curiosity and exploration flows into his teaching, making lessons engaging and inspiring for his students.

With a degree in Psychology (BSc Hons), alongside completing his teacher training (Primary PGCE), David constantly strives to unpick 'how' and 'why' children learn best. David has taught throughout Key Stage Two for almost 15 years and is now currently a Teacher and a Teaching Coach within his school environment, based in Manchester. He has experience leading subjects across school federations and was integral in embedding Oracy across his School Federation.
